As always, we encourage the community to get involved with the Park County Fair by providing entrees to the Open Classes. In the past, we have had a beautiful display of hand-made quilts, clothes, photos, art, woodworking, and homemade baked goods! Contact the Fair Grounds Manager to enter your handiwork this year at 719-836-4289. Open Class entries will be taken in Bailey and Fairplay. Call the office for details.
I encourage everyone to come and see the effort the 4H members put into their projects. We, the 4H members, enjoy enlightening the people that come to support us, and this great program. County Fair is the time the members really get to show how much we care about our animals, and also to show how much we enjoy what we do! Come and see what we are all about!
July 9th and 10th will be filled with horse competitions. Wednesday, July 13th kicks off the final weekend of fair with the Dog Show. Thursday will host an Open Gymkhana and then the rest of the livestock arrives. Don’t miss the chance to participate in the Ranch Rodeo or bring your best livestock from the range to compete in the Rancher’s Pride. The livestock competition carries us through the weekend ending Saturday night with a LIVE AUCTION beginning at 5:00 p.m. July 16th. The community is invited to join us for the Fair Dance Saturday evening after the auction ends. Sunday, July 17th, begins with Cowboy Church, then features the Kids Day, Mutton Bustin’, and a Stick Horse Rodeo.
Pile in the family car, jump on your horse, and make your way down to Fairplay for the Park County Fair this July!!! It is a great experience!
