Mel and Jodi Klassen have been involved with Park County 4-H since their eldest daughter, Megan, joined the horse club in Bailey in 1997. Both Megan and Kayla then joined the livestock club. Over the years they raised pigs, lambs and steers all while learning to train and show their horses. Both Megan and Kayla were honored with awards throughout their 4-H experience in livestock and horse events.
Being a 4H Dad is no small feat. Mel has been supportive of the livestock and horse club from the beginning. He helped with many projects and was volunteered for everything year after year. Mel hauled animals to weigh-ins, horse shows, parades, practices and the County Fair. Thank you Mel for all the hours you helped your family, the Bailey Freedom Riders and the Livestock Club.
Jodi has been the horse leader for the Bailey Freedom Riders for many years. She has served on the Horse Council and the Park County Fair Board. Every year has been rewarding to work with the Bailey Freedom Riders, Co-Leader Beth Woodward, Horse Council members and the Livestock Fair Board members ;)
Megan and Kayla also served Park County as Royalty. The each served as Princess and Queen, enjoying many years representing Park County at the Colorado Association of Fairs and Shows, Stock Show, Horse Expo and Park County Fair. Thank you to the Klassen family for your years of dedication to the Park County 4-H program.
